Mitchell named Empire 8 Women's Track Athlete of the Week
ROCHESTER, NY - Senior sprinter #Samantha Mitchell# of the RIT women's track and field team was named the Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Week on Monday for the week ending Dec. 13, 2009. It is Mitchell's first weekly Empire 8 honor.

ROCHESTER, NY - Senior sprinter
Samantha Mitchell (Southlake, TX/Carroll) of the RIT women's track and field team was named the Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Week on Monday for the week ending Dec. 13, 2009. It is Mitchell's first weekly Empire 8 honor.
Mitchell won the 55-meter dash (7.45 seconds) and the 200 meters (26.84 seconds) at the RIT Early Season Invitational, qualifying for the ECAC in each race.
The Tigers return to action on Jan. 16, 2010, as they host the RIT Invitational.
