WILKES BARRE, PA - The RIT wrestling team finished fifth out of 10 teams at the 2009 King's Tournament. RIT had a team score of 98.5 points. Wilkes won the tournament with 195 points. Sophomore #
Adam Wallander (Loveland, OH/Moeller)# was the individual champion at 133 lbs.
Wallander went 4-0 at 133 lbs. as he defeated Ed Galvin of SUNY Oneonta, 6-5 in the championship match. Wallander cruised into the championship match with 14-0, 12-8, and 16-0 wins earlier in the afternoon.

Jason Wake (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy) and freshman (Decatur, GA/Dunwoody)Nick Fuschino# took second place honors at 157 and 165 lbs. respectively. Wake, seeded first in his class, won his first three matches of the day in easy fashion, before falling to James Histead of Wilkes in the championship, 3-1. Fuschino recorded 13-1, 8-1, 9-1, and 10-0 wins before losing to Ben Marich of Wilkes, 9-4 in the championship. One of Fuschino's wins was over the No. 1 seed, Jesse Villella of Wilkes, 8-1.

Ben Johnstone (West Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta)# placed third at 174 lbs., as he finished 4-1 on the afternoon.
RIT is back in action on Wednesday, as they host SUNY Oneonta at 6 p.m.
