Men's soccer loses to Stevens in Empire 8 semifinals

HOBOKEN, NY -- The RIT (8-8-1) men's soccer team had their season ended on Friday with a 6-0 loss to Stevens Tech (13-4-1) in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Championship. The Tigers came into the game as the second seed and the Ducks were seeded second.
RIT was out shot 24-6 on the afternoon. The Tigers took one corner kick to six for Stevens and fould were 15-11 in favor of the Ducks.
Stevens led 1-0 at the half on a goal from Nolan Sandberg in the 19th minute. He struck again in the 56th minute to make it 2-0 Ducks.
Terrance Johnson made it 3-0 in the 57th minute and Victor Daza scored three straight goals in 2:34 late in the second half.
Ben Frazier (Westminster, MD/Westminster) took the loss for RIT, making four saves.
The Tigers finish their season with an 8-8-1 record.
