Burdick garners fifth Empire 8 weekly honor; named Runner of the Week

Jared Burdick (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) of the RIT men's cross country team, was named the Empire 8 Runner of the Week on Monday, for the week ending November 15, 2009. It is Burdick's fifth Empire 8 weekly honor this season.
Burdick was RIT's top finisher and qualified for the NCAA Championships, placing 12th overall out of 264 runners in a time of 25:32.7 at the NCAA Regional Championships. He led RIT to a fourth place finish out of 38 teams. It will be Burdick's second trip to the NCAA's, having also ran in 2006.
The Tigers qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years and will compete on Saturday at Highland Hills Golf Course in Highland Hills, Ohio.
