Women's cross country finishes 14th at NCAA Regionals

LETCHWORTH, NY -- The RIT women's cross country team placed 14th at the 2009 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships at Letchworth State Park on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers finished 14th out of 32 teams with a team score of 383 points.

Senior Jouhan Allende (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) was RIT's top finisher. She finished the 5,000-meter course 14th overall in a time of 22:45.7.  It is expected that Allende will qualify for the NCAA Championships when the field is announced on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Abby Aker (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) was the Tiger's next finisher. The junior finished 57th overall in a time of 23:45.2. Arielle Januszkiewicz (Amherst, NY/Amherst) was 87th overall in a time of 24:26.5
