ROCHESTER, NY - Sophomore forward Todd Gaulocher (Old Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) of the RIT men's soccer team was named the Empire 8 Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Monday for the week ending October 4, 2009.  It is Gaulocher's first Empire 8 weekly honor.  He was previously named the RIT Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 6.

Gaulocher had a goal and an assist in a pair of conference wins over the weekend. On Saturday, Gaulocher headed in the game-winner with just 2:35 remaining in the second overtime, as RIT defeated Ithaca 2-1. He followed that up with an assist in a 2-0 win over Elmira College on Sunday.  Gaulocher is second on the team in scoring with five points (2-1-5).

The Tigers (4-6-1, 2-1-0 Empire 8) are back in action on Friday, as they travel to Utica to face the Pioneers in a crucial Empire 8 contest.  That match begins at 7 p.m.
