Volleyball places second at Baruch Invitational Tournament; Petko named to All-Tournament Team
NEW YORK, NY - The RIT volleyball squad (18-15) finished 1-1 on Sunday to place second at the second annual Baruch Invitational Tournament. RIT opened the afternoon by losing to Elmira in four games, 25-20, 12-25, 14-25, 19-25, but rebounded to sweep Richard Stockton, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
In the opener aganst Elmira, both
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) and
Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) led the squad with 12 kills. Moore added three blocks. The duo of
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) and
Melanie Springer (Frederick, MD/Governor Thomas Johnson) combined for 26 assists.
Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) compiled 11 digs.
Petko and Moore enjoyed similar success against Richard Stockton. Petko hit .429 with 13 kills and four blocks, while Moore hit .381 with 12 kills.
Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) added nine kills. Springer dished out a season-best 36 assists, while
Cristine Schiavello (West Chester, PA/Unionville) added six digs.
The Tigers return action on Friday, with Empire 8 matches against Stevens and St. John Fisher at Nazareth College. Action gets underway at 4 p.m.
