ROCHESTER, NY - Senior #Luke Baum (Ontario, NY/Wayne)# (Ontario, NY/Wayne) of the RIT wrestling team was named the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending January 27, 2009.

Baum was a perfect 5-0 last week.  He earned a forfeit win over SUNY Morrisville on Wednesday.  He went at the Mel Berry Duals hosted by Thiel College on Saturday. He won by forfeit at 157 lbs. to start the day and earned a 19-3 technical fall win over Luke Caracofe of Muskingum. Baum defeated Justin Ashley of WVU Tech by technical fall, then earned a major decision win over Mason Stewart of Thiel, 10-2. Baum is now 28-6 this season.

The Tigers host SUNY Brockport in a single dual meet on Wednesday evening, starting at 7 p.m.
