ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's hockey team is hosting the Orange and White intersquad scrimmage and annual “Skate With the Tigers” event on Saturday, October 3 at Frank Ritter Memorial Arena.  The Orange and White game begins at 6 p.m., while Skate With the Tigers starts at 8 p.m.  In addition, the Tigers will host York University of Ontario in an exhibition contest on Sunday, October 4 at 2:05 p.m.

Admission on Saturday will be $5.00, which includes the Orange and White game, skate rental and team picture for Skate With the Tigers.  Proceeds from the event will go to “Hockey Coaches Care,” a relief fund for the amateur hockey community initiated by the AHCA. “Hockey Coaches Care” helps both individuals in need and organizations that promote the values embraced by the hockey community.

RIT Head Coach Wayne Wilson, now in his 11th season, is happy to be able to donate to a great cause.

"Having this event and donating to Hockey Coaches Care is a great way to give back to the hockey community," said Wilson.  "It supports a great cause."

Everyone in attendance will receive a team picture sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations that can be signed by the players during Skate With the Tigers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to skate with your favorite Tiger hockey player and get their autograph.

The following afternoon, RIT hosts York University in an exhibition contest, starting at 2:05 p.m.  Tickets for that contest are $10 for adults, $8 for faculty and staff, and $5 for students with identification.  As always, children under five years of age are free.

RIT opens the regular season on Saturday, October 10 against Colgate University at Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m.  That game is part of Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
