Men's Cross Country Completes 2008 Season With 16th Place Finish at Atlantic Regional

CANTON, NY -- The RIT men's cross country team concluded its 2008 season by finishing 16th out of 34 teams at the Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University in the slop on Satutrday afternoon. The Tigers finished with a team score of 450 points.
SUNY Cortland won the team title with 47 points. Peter Kosgei of Hamilton was the top individual runner, defeating the rest of the field by 14 seconds, completing the course in 25:18.8.
Sophomore
Zach Miller (Ironville, PA/Hempfield) was RIT's top finisher, placing 59th overall out of 234 runners and completing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:23.9.
Senior
Mike Brindak (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) was RIT's next best finisher, placing 68th overall in 27:30.9.
Junior Nick Meeker (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) was 76th in a time of 27:37.6.
Freshman Mike Kurvach (Victor, NY/Victor) placed 113th overall in 28:13.8, while William Craig (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) rounded out RIT's top-five, finishing 134th in 28:53.6. Jon Grossman (Portsmouth, NH/Portsmouth) and Greg Hrinda (Fairview, PA/Fairview) also competed for the Tigers, placing 139th and 185th, respectively.
