GENEVA, NY- RIT women's crew raced Saturday in the 3rd Annual Hobart & William Smith Challenge on the Canal. The Tigers had solid showings throughout its various lineups.
Racing in their first Novice 8 head race for the Tigers, the line-up of coxswain

#Carly Speck ()# had a strong fourth place finish of the 12 boats. RIT raced the 4,650-meter course in 19:24, just three seconds off third place finisher St. Lawrence. William Smith's Novice 8 won the event with a time of 18:52. The Tigers look to continue their steady improvement in the coming weeks as they gain more racing experience.

RIT's next race is held locally on the Genesee River in Genesee Valley Park on Sunday, October 12. The Head of the Genesee Regatta is the same weekend as RIT's Brick City Weekend this year, and RIT Crew will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the program. Many members of the inaugural crews will be returning to campus for alumni events, and to race alumni boats in the Head of the Genesee.
