RIT Wins the 2007 RIT Volleyball Tournament

ROCHESTER, NY – RIT defeated Nazareth 3-0 (30-28, 30-22, 30-24) in the championship match of the 2007 RIT Tournament, taking home the title for the first time since the 2001 season. SUNY Geneseo was third, Cortland was fifth and four-time defending champion NYU was seventh.

RIT's Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) was named the Tournament's most valuable player. She had 15 kills in the championship match versus Nazareth and 32 for the day.  The junior outside hitter had 17 kills and 16 digs in the semifinals verusus SUNY Brockport.
