Click For BoxscorePITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT (1-1-0) men's soccer team fell to Plymouth State, 1-0 on Saturday at Nazareth College in the second annual Doug May Classic. Despite outshooting the Panthers, 16-8 the Tigers were unable to tally a goal.
The first half finished in a scoreless tie. RIT outshot Plymouth State 7-3 as
Matt Klosner (Lowville, NY/Lowville Academy) (Lowville, NY/Lowville) made one save for the Tigers.
The second half saw RIT generate some good scoring chances but were unable to get one past Panthers keeper
Tyler Shute.
Plymouth State got on the board at the 51:46 mark in the second half.
Jamal Luttamaguzi ran onto a ball that was crossed into the penalty area and headed it past Klosner for a 1-0 lead. That goal held up as the Panthers defense kept the Tigers off the scoreboard.
RIT will face Allegheny College on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the second leg of the Doug May Classic hosted by Nazareth College.
