PITTSBURGH, PA - The RIT Volleyball team had its four match winning streak snapped on Friday night, as they fell to Heidelberg College in five tough games at the Carnegie Mellon Crossover Tournament, losing by a score of 24-30, 30-22, 26-30, 30-26, 14-16.
Senior setter Katie Werner (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) set a career-high with 61 assists to go along with 25 digs. Bonnie Harriman (Danbury, CT/Danbury) (Danbury, CT/Danbury) set her career-high with 23 kills, as she added 12 digs.
First-year Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) (Wellington, OH/Keystone) recorded 22 digs to go along with 17 kills. Laurie Underhill (East Aurora, NY/Mt. Mercy) (East Aurora, NY/Mt. Mercy) added 15 kills, while Laura Grell (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) recorded 24 digs.
RIT (13-3) is back in action on Saturday, as they play John Carroll at 12 p.m. and Allegheny at 4 p.m. in day two action of the Carnegie Mellon Crossover Tournament.
