ROCHESTER, NY -- Christina Anabel (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) has been named the RACA Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2005.
Anabel led RIT to a 4-2 record last week, ripping 91 kills and adding 78 digs. On Tuesday, she set a career-high with 30 kills and hit .450 in a win over Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher. It was the first time a Tiger hit 30 kills in a match since Emily Verbridge did it in 2001. Anabel also had 20 kills against the Cardinals on Friday evening at the NYU Invitational and 22 kills versus Plymouth State on Saturday, as the Tigers finished third.
