Fredyne Frey

Fredyne Frey begins her 17th year with RIT crew in 2022-23 and serves as the women’s varsity coach. Frey joined the program in 2006 and made an immediate impact on boat speed and team unity. She led the charge in coaching the women’s varsity and novice fours to their first state championship in 2006.
 
Frey was part of the RIT women’s coaching staff named Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year three straight seasons from 2014-2017. The women’s novice eight was victorious at the 2018 Liberty League Championship.

Frey is a 2005 graduate of St. Lawrence University where she received a bachelor’s degree in English and dedicated herself to the Saints crew program. She was a standout oarswoman for four years and led the team as captain her senior year.
 
Frey earned her master’s degree in communication and media technologies from RIT in 2009. She is married to former RIT crew standout Chris Frey, who is coach of the novice men.
