ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore sprinter/hurdler
Harley Wilson (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) will represent RIT at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Outdoor Championships, which take place from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25 held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Wilson is looking for her second consecutive All-American honor in the 400-meter hurdles. The preliminaries take place on Thursday, May 23 at 4:25 p.m. If Wilson advances, the finals are Saturday, May 25 at 2:15 p.m.
Wilson enters the national championships with the second fastest time among all Division III runners in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:00.78. She has enjoyed a tremendous outdoor season, winning all six of her races in the 400-meter hurdles. Wilson won both the Liberty League and All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Championships for the second consecutive year, setting meet records in each event. On May 11, Wilson broke her own school record in the event, recording a time of 1:00.78 at Geneseo.
Last year, Wilson earned All-American honors in the 400-meter hurdles by finishing sixth overall in a time of 1:00.94, hosted by University of Wisconsin La Crosse. She became RIT's first freshman to earn All-American honors.
Wilson also represented RIT at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing 18th overall in the 400-meter dash. She is a five-time Liberty League Performer of the Week in 2018-19.
