ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore
Harley Wilson (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, while
Madeline Pizzo (Irondequoit, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) and
Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) equaled the pole vault mark, as the RIT women's track and field team sent a small group of student-athletes to the SUNY Geneseo May Meet on Saturday, May 11.
Wilson won her heat over potential NCAA Qualifiers Tayler Dence of St. John Fisher College and Erin MacDougall of SUNY Geneseo, in a time of 1:00.78, which snapped her own record, set at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships by 12 one-hundredths of a second. It is also now the second fastest time in Division III this season to date.
Junior
Ali Binga (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) finished fifth in that same heat, recording a personal-best time of 1:04.90.
Pizzo and Kaplan both cleared 3.52 meters in the pole vault. Pizzo also cleared 3.52 meters on April 18 at Geneseo, which was a new school mark.
Sophomore

Kathryn Vogl (West Seneca, NY/St. Mary's) had a jump of 10.09 meters to place 14th.
RIT will send a small contingent of student-athletes to the Swarthmore Final Qualifier Meet on Monday, May 13, before competing at the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Championship from SUNY Cortland on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16.
