ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Marla Roberts (Penfield, NY/Home Schooled) of the RIT women's soccer team was a 2018 Google Cloud First Team Academic All-America. She is the third Tiger to be named an Academic All-American and RIT's first, first team selection in program history.

Roberts, a co-captain, was a 2018 Liberty League All-Academic selection. She holds a 4.0 grade-point average in mechanical engineering at RIT. Roberts, a 2018 First Team All-Liberty League selection led RIT in scoring with eight goals and 18 points in 2018. She tallied a season-high five points in two goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Nazareth College Oct. 2.
 
Roberts played in 40 career games at RIT, tallying 26 points on six goals and 11 assists, and is tied for 23rd all time in scoring.
 
RIT finished 2018 with an 11-6-4 overall and received a bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship for the third time in program history. The Tigers tied Susquehanna University 1-1 in the first round, advancing 4-3 on penalty kicks.
