ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's lacrosse team (1-0, 0-0 Liberty League) is the No. 1 team in Division III in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Coaches poll announced on Feb. 24. The Tigers are ranked No. 1 for the first time in the program's 47-year history with 380 points and all 19 first place votes, after a thrilling 15-14 come-from-behind overtime win versus top ranked and defending National Champion, Stevenson University last Saturday at the Carrier Dome.

Junior Casey Jackson (Victoria, BC/Claremont) tied the score at 14-14 with 0.2 seconds to play in regulation, and Taylor Wisman (Seattle, WA/Inglemoor) won it with 2:17 to play in overtime off an assist from Jack Krzyston (Bedford, NH/Bishop Guertin). Down 14-8, RIT scored seven goals in the fourth quarter, including four goals in the final 1:30 and three tallies in the final 57 seconds to complete the comeback.

Junior Allister Warren (Toronto, Ontario/Malvern Collegiate Institute), the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week, led RIT with six points on a goal and five assists Saturday, while Jackson scored four goals and added an assist in his first game as a Tiger. Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Ryan Lee (Sharon, Ontario/The Hill Academy) and Kyle Aquin (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean De Brebeuf) each scored a pair of goals, while Taylor Wisman (Seattle, WA/Inglemoor), Matt Hoassack and Mac Keehfus (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) each had a goal and an assist. Pat Johnston (Long Beach, CA/Norwell (MA)) got the win in net, making 17 saves. Hossack earned Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week honors.

The Tigers will play #15 Ithaca College on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. on RIT's Turf Field.
