ROCHESTER, NY – The Tiger Oarsmen battled wind and rain in their third race of the fall season at the Head of the Genesee Regatta on Saturday, October 15. The men's varsity eight finished sixth in a seventeen-boat field. The men's varsity four finished sixth in a nine-boat field.
Seated in the coxswain seat for the varsity eight was TJ Binotto (Poughkeepsie, NY/Nazareth Area), followed by stroke seat,
Chris Massey (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields), seven seat,
Stu Burgess (Buffalo, NY/City Honors), six seat,
Evan Moreshead (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy), five seat,
Sean Kennelly (Mendon, VT/Rutland), four seat,
David Gasser (New Milford, CT/New Milford), three seat,
Killian Castner (Louisvlle, KY/Academic Magnet) two seat,
Chris Donnelly (Walton, NY/Walton ), and bow seat
Chris Guerra ( West Seneca, NY/Canisius). The eight finished in a time of 16:11.74 with Bucknell finishing first.
Seated in the varsity four was coxswain,
Lianna Potrikus (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), followed by stroke seat,
Fielding Confer (Waverly, PA/Abington Heights), three seat,
Keith Martin (Poughkeepsie, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes), two seat,
Eric Schulken (Mount Pleasant, SC/Academic Magnet), and bow seat, Bobby Jones. The four finished in a time of 19:10.32 with Brown finishing first.
Head Coach
Jim Bodenstedt was pleased with the men's performance.
“We raced a better technical race today,” said
Bodenstedt. “We had a goal to correct some things and we went out there to execute those changes in the race plan. Today's racing was about building our confidence.”
Next up the Tiger Oarsmen will end their fall training season at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, NY October 29.
