ROCHESTER, NY – RIT women's track and field head coach David Warth and his staff were honored as the 2016-17 Liberty League Indoor Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year on Monday, March 20. It is RIT's first Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honor.

Warth led RIT to its first Liberty League Championship on Feb. 11, which was also RIT's first female team title of any kind since joining the Liberty League in 2011-12. In addition, RIT placed third at the NYSCTC Championship. Five different women's school records were shattered during the indoor season. Seniors Jess Calzolari (Longmont, CO/Mead) (pentathlon) and Emma Jones (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (mile) represented RIT at the 2017 NCAA Championship.

In addition, RIT had two Liberty League Track Performers of the Week (Marissa Dispenza (Batavia, NY/Batavia), Jones), three Field Performers of the Week (Kendra Bush (Palmyra, NY/Newark) - three times, Calzolari - four times, Kaitlyn Houghtling (Elmira, NY/Thomas A. Edison)), and three Rookies of the Week (Ali Binga (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) - twice, Samantha Kaplan (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) - three times, and Madeline Pizzo (Irondequoit, NY/Our Lady of Mercy)).

The RIT women's track and field coaching staff is comprised of Warth and assistants Dave Stevens (jumps and multi-events), Ken Rasmussen (sprints and hurdles), Sonja Fitts-Walters (throws), and Mike Dempsey (pole vault).
