Cameron Lee (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) and senior jumper
Marquis Moore (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) of the RIT men's track and field earned Liberty League Indoor Track and Field weekly honors on Monday, for the week ending Feb. 17, 2013. Lee was named the Liberty League Track Athlete of the Week, while Moore was named the Liberty League Field Athlete of the Week. It is Lee's second weekly honor of the season and third of his career, while Moore was honored for the first time this season and fourth time in his career.
Lee continued his strong season, setting a school record in the 60-meter dash prelim with a time of 7.18 seconds at the Orange and Brown Invitational on Friday. He also placed third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.98 seconds, just 12 one-hundredths of a second shy of the school record. Lee has the 17th fastest time in the country in the 60-meter hurdles this season with a time of 8.32 seconds
Moore, who was also named the NYSCTC Field Athlete of the Week, placed second in the long jump with an excellent leap of 7.06 meters, which for the time being, is the 13th best jump in Division III this season at the Orange and Brown Invitational on Friday. Moore is also tenth nationally in the triple jump with a leap of 14.47 meters.
Lee and Moore will be in action for the Tigers on Friday and Saturday, as they compete at the 2013 NYSCTC Championships hosted by Ithaca College. Friday's action starts at 3 p.m., while Saturday's events get underway at 10 a.m.
