ROCHESTER, NY -- Junior middle hitter
Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) of the RIT women's volleyball team was honored as a 2011 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-Region selection. Sullivan has an incredible 3.96 cumulative GPA as a computer science major.
Sullivan was tremendous all season, appearing in more sets than any other Tiger. She led RIT with 15 solo blocks and 84 assisted blocks, averaging 0.70 blocks per set. She was also strong on the attack, with 182 kills. On October 14, in a Liberty League matchup with Vassar, Sullivan tallied 10 kills and three blocks, on the way to a four-set victory. Against Lycoming on October 28, she finished with 14 kills and five blocks in a three-set sweep. In one four match swing late in the season, she tallied 53 kills and 15 blocks, with a hitting percentage of .511. Sullivan also earned All-Liberty League Honorable Mention accolades.
In three seasons with the Tigers, Sullivan has already put her name in the record books. Her 215 career assisted blocks are ninth most in program history. In her three seasons, she has 380 kills, 73 digs and 36 solo blocks in 103 matches.
