Men's Swimming and Diving falls to SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Geneseo

NEW PALTZ, NY --
The RIT men's swimming and diving team (4-3) fell to SUNY New Paltz (4-6) 215.5-116.5.  RIT also lost to SUNY Geneseo (5-3) 254-78.

The 800-yard freestyle relay squad of Wade Piotrowski (Webster, NY/Webster Schroder), Scott Farrell (Buffalo, NY/North Tonawanda), Cory Deacon (Scottsville, NY/Wheatland-Chili) and Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield) finished second with a time of 7:27.12.  Matthew Partacz (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca) finished in sixth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.74The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ryan Brannan (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena), Farrell, Deacon and Christiansen also finished in second, with a time of 1:29.51. 

Christiansen picked up a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.75 while Brannan and Deacon finished in fourth and fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 22.89 and 22.94 seconds.

Brannan came back to take third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.33.  Peter Coutts (Statsburg, NY/F.D. Roosevelt High School) placed sixth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:28.46.

The 400-yard freestyle relay unit of Deacon, Brannan, Farrell and Christiansen finished second in 3:21.90.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, January 21 when they host LeMoyne at the Judson Pool at 1 p.m.
