The RIT women's cross country team enjoyed a competitive 2011 season, sending one runner to the NCAA Championships.
 
The Tigers started the season with a second place showing at the Brockport Invitational.  They followed that up with consecutive third place finishes at the RPI Invitational, Highlander Invitational and Paul Short Invitational.  The Tigers finished in fourth at the Liberty League Championships and 14^th at the NCAA District Qualifiers.
 
Junior #Erin LaFave (Troy, MI/Bloomfield Hills Lahser)# was RIT's top finisher in every meet and earned a spot at the NCAA Championships.  She began the season with a first place finish at the Brockport Invitational, and went on to finish in the top-10 in six of the next seven competitions.  Her time of 22:26.2 at the NCAA District Qualifier was a new school record before she broke it again at the NCAA Championships with a time of 22:16.75.  She earned Liberty League First Team honors after a fourth place finish at the Liberty League Championships.  She was a three-time Liberty League Performer of the Week and three-time RIT Female Athlete of the Week.
 
Senior #Kate Dubuisson (Winston Salem, NC/Mount Tabor)# was strong all year.  Her best finish of the season came at the Brockport Invitational, where she finished ninth with a time of 24:54.78.  Juniors #Amanda Dole (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional) and Katrijn Moulin (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough)# were impressive for the Tigers, as they consistently pushed each other and the rest of the team.
 
The freshman class of #Kaylin Beiter (Lima, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Danielle Marino (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs)# were great additions to the team and will be key to the Tigers' success next season.
