ROCHESTER, NY -- Recently, the RIT men's lacrosse team gave back to the Rochester community, participating in the Annual Joe Benet Memorial Kazoo Fest to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. The Tigers helped raise $6005.00 at the Eastview Mall loaction in Victor, New York. All of the proceeds from the Annual Kazoo Fest benefit Camp Good Days for children, adults, and families whose lives have been touched by cancer.

“When Gary Mervis came to speak here at RIT this fall I knew this was a cause we wanted to support,” said RIT Head Coach Jake Coon.  “When this opportunity came up we jumped at the chance. Losing Willie (Rago) last year really hit home with our players on how this disease can strike at anytime. I know the guys were excited to give back and support what camp Good Days is doing and it makes me extremely proud that they enthusiastically helped raise money for Camp Good Days. They represented RIT and our program in a first class manner”

The Kazoo Fest, which has become a long-standing holiday tradition, was started more than 60 years ago by Joe Benet outside the Toy Department of the Sibley's store on Main Street in downtown Rochester. Since 1984, Camp Good Days, with help and support from various retail locations and thousands of volunteers, has continued the Kazoo Fest.
