ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's hockey team will host its annual “Skate With the Tigers” event on Friday, October 7 at 6:45 p.m., which will be held at Frank Ritter Arena.  As an added bonus, fans in attendance will be treated to a tour of the Tigers new locker room that evening immediately following Skate With the Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Skate With the Tigers is free. All skate rentals are $3.  All children in attendance at Skate With the Tigers will receive a team picture sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations that can be signed by your favorite RIT players and coaches. This is a fantastic opportunity to skate with your favorite Tiger hockey players and get their autographs.

The one story 12,000 square foot locker room addition is located on the east side of the current 52,125 square foot arena. It houses the new team locker rooms, coaches' facilities, and supporting hockey activities such as treatment space, equipment storage and repair. The east façade of the building, facing Gordon Field House, is a brick finish with vertical openings penetrating the brick at regular intervals, while the other exposed walls will be a cast concrete. Skylight wells on the roof will provide natural light to the locker rooms.

RIT opens the regular season on Saturday, October 8 against Atlantic Hockey Association foe Niagara University at Ritter Arena at 7:05 p.m.

On Saturday, October 15, RIT hosts St. Lawrence at Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m. That game is part of Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
