Women's lacrosse wins at Alfred; Hennigan sets record
ALFRED, NY -- Senior #Eileen Hennigan# became RIT's all-time leading scorer as RIT defeated Alfred University 20-7 in Empire 8 action on Sunday. With her goal Hennigan passed Pinckney Templeton for first on the all-time points list with 157 career points.

ALFRED, NY -- Senior Eileen Hennigan (Liverpool, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) became RIT's all-time leading scorer as RIT defeated Alfred University 20-7 in Empire 8 action on Sunday. With her goal Hennigan passed Pinckney Templeton for first on the all-time points list with 157 career points.

Hennigan, who needs three goals to become the all-time leading goal scorer in RIT history, has 157 career points on 131 goals and 26 assists.

RIT dominated from the opening whistle, scoring the first four goals of the contest. Ashley Pezze (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) opened the scoring 34 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal.

Tina Padrosky made it 2-0 two minutes and 17 seconds after Pezze's goal, and Danielle Previ (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) scored two straight to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.

Previ, who had three goals in the opening half, was one of three players with multiple goals in the half. Pezze and Allyson Pisher each had two goals for RIT who led 13-5 at the half.

Hennigan recorded the record-breaking goal with 18:23 remaining in the first half on an unassisted goal.

Previ led all goal scorers with four on the afternoon. Pisher and freshman Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport) each had six points on three goals and three assists.

Podrasky, Pezze and Rebecca Lampson (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) each had two goals for the Tigers and Carly Augustyn (Spencerport, NY/Churchville-Chili) had a goal and an assist.

The Tigers dominated defensively, causing 10 Alfred turnovers. Vakiener had six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Megan Henriksen also had two cause turnovers. Katelyn Crane (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) picked up her eighth win of the season making seven saves.

RIT will look to continue their momentum on Wednesday, April 21 versus St. John Fisher. Game time versus the Cardinals is at 4 pm on RIT Field.
