Adams and Dempsey to compete at 2010 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend

ROCHESTER, NY - Sophomores Jennifer Adams of the RIT women's track and field team and Michael Dempsey of the men's squad will compete in the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on Friday and Saturday. 

Adams will compete in the long jump, which will be held on Friday at 12 p.m.  Adams broke the school record and qualified for the NCAA's with a leap of 5.63 meters at the NYSCTC Championships on Feb. 26.  That leap was is the seventh best in all of Division III this season.  It is her first trip to the NCAA Championship.

Dempsey will compete in the pole vault on Friday at 10 a.m.  Last weekend, Dempsey qualified and broke his own school record with a leap of 5.02 meters in winning the event at the ECAC Championships.  That leap is the fourth highest in all of Division III this season.  It is his first trip to the NCAA Championship.
