Women's basketball has big second half beats Alfred
ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team erased a 10-point half time deficit to defeat Alfred University 61-52 in Empire 8 action on Tuesday night. The win improves the Tigers to 11-12 overall and 5-9 in the Empire 8.

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team erased a 10-point half time deficit to defeat Alfred University 61-52 in Empire 8 action on Tuesday night. The win improves the Tigers to 11-12 overall and 5-9 in the Empire 8.

The Tigers trailed by 10 at the half and by 12 early in the second half, but out scored the Saxons 36-17 in the second half picking up their eleventh win of the season.

Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) led RIT with 16 points and five assists. Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport) scored 15 points in her final appearance in Clark Gymnasium and Anne Wapshare (Blasdell, NY/Immaculata Academy) scored 11 points off the bench.

RIT was down 12 early in the second half but went on a 14-1 run, taking their first lead of the half on a three pointer by Havens.

The Tigers shot 41.7 percent from the floor in the second half after a poor shooting effort in the first half.

RIT will finish the regular season on the road this weekend. The Tigers will face Hartwick College on Friday, February 19 at 6 pm and Stevens on Sunday, February 20 at 12 pm in Hoboken, New Jersey.
