ROCHESTER, NY - Junior close defender
Dan MacRae (Oakville, Ontario/Holy Trinity) (Oakville, Ontario/Holy Trinity) of the RIT men's lacrosse team was named a 2009 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-American on Tuesday. It is the sixth straight season that a RIT lacrosse player has earned All-American honors.
MacRae, who was an All-SUNYAC first team selection with SUNY Potsdam in 2008, transferred to RIT this season and earned All-Empire 8 and Graph Tex New York State first team honors earlier in the month. He led RIT with 89 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers. MacRae was a key member of a stout defense that allowed less than 10 goals per game.
The Tigers finished the 2009 season with a 10-6 record. It is the fourth straight 10-win season for the Tigers.
