TORONTO, ON – Brad Conlon (Ottawa, Ontario/Bridgeton Academy), a 2009 graduate of RIT, has been selected to Team Canada’s 30-man roster for the 2010 World Games. The Canadian National team will compete in the World Championship in Manchester, England from July 14-24, 2010.

Among the thirty players on the roster are standouts John Grant, Brodie Merrill, and Shawn Williams, who are all members of the MLL’s Toronto Nationals. All three helped the Nationals, formerly known as the Rochester Rattlers, win the 2009 MLL Championship. Head Coach David Huntley will cut down the roster to the FIL World Championship allowed 23, which will represent Canada at the World Games.

Conlon, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, was selected as one of the goalies for the Under-19 Canadian national team in 2002. He led the RIT men’s lacrosse team to an overall record of 11-8, and 6-3 in the Empire 8 in 2008. He started in 18 games, making 145 saves, while only allowing 7.8 goals per game. Conlon finished his career making 238 career saves, and holds the RIT record for lowest goals against average in a career of 7.59. In addition, he was a Second team All-Empire 8 selection his senior year, and helped RIT earn an Empire 8 title and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2006.

Team Canada has won the world title twice, in 2006 and 1978. In 2006, they defeated the United States by a score of 15-10, ending a 28-year drought.
