ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women’s cross country team placed 10th at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Championship on Saturday, as they ran through Genesee Valley Park. The Tigers recorded 281 points. St. Lawrence University won the championship with a team score of 23 points.
This week’s top runner for the women’s team was junior
Gabrielle Oberti (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro). Oberti finished the course in 21:17 and placed 63rd overall. Sophomore Kate Dubussion was close behind as she came in 67th with a time of 21:22. The third runner for the Tigers was freshman
Julie Kerchner (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown), who completed the course in 22:02, giving her the 79th place slot. Freshman
Anna Bower (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) was the fourth RIT runner, coming in 84th with a time of 22:18.
Remy Glock (Reno, NV/McQueen), a junior, finished out the scoring positions as she finished the race in a time of 23:22. This time placed Glock in 92nd.
The women’s team’s next race will be the Empire 8 Championship, which will be held at Saratoga Springs State Park on Saturday, October 31. The race will begin at 11 a.m.
