ROCHESTER, NY - Despite a young core, the 2010 RIT women’s volleyball team enters the season looking to re-establish itself as one of the top teams in the Empire 8 Conference and New York State region. Head Coach Jim Lodes is no stranger to success at RIT, having led the squad to three straight NCAA Tournament Appearances in his first stint from 1991-1993. Overall, Lodes led RIT to an impressive 170-59 mark in five seasons, including a program record 52 wins in 1992, and a trip to the national Division III semifinals in 1993.

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT volleyball team is picked to finish fifth in the 2010 Empire 8 preseason coaches poll, as released by the conference on Friday.  Stevens Institute of Technology, which has won the conference title in each of its first three seasons, is the unanimous preseason favorite in the coaches’ poll to capture the Empire 8 Volleyball Championship again this year.

ROCHESTER, NY – Lou Spiotti Jr., RIT Director for the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation has named Jim Lodes as the eighth head coach of the Rochester Institute of Technology women’s volleyball program. Lodes brings a wealth of coaching experience to the RIT program.

12.18.2009 | Women's Volleyball
ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women’s volleyball team ended its 2009 season with a split at the New York State Regional Challenge, finishing fifth. The Tigers beat Lycoming and SUNY Brockport, and were defeated by cross-town rival Nazareth and St. Lawrence. The Tigers finished with an overall record of 21-20, with a conference record of 4-3. On Sept. 18, head coach Roger Worsley picked up his 300th career win. In nine seasons, Worsley finished with a record of 216-115. He finished his career at RIT holding a school record for all-time coaching wins.
