Men's track and field earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's track and field team was one of 68 institutions to receive United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2010 Division III All-Academic honors on Wednesday. The distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

ROCHESTER, NY - Four current members of RIT Athletics struck gold at the 2010 Empire State Games held in the Buffalo area from July 21-25.  Michael Dempsey (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) of the men's track and field team, Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) of the men's basketball squad, Rachel Zoyhofski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) of women's cross country, and women's hockey head coach Scott McDonald all won gold medals for the Western squad during the week.

BEREA, OH - It was a banner weekend for the RIT men's track and field program, as junior Michael Dempsey (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) earned All-American status and was the national runner-up in the pole vault, while classmate Matt Marion (Lima, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles to garner All-American honors at the 2010 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships hosted by Baldwin Wallace College.
