Women's tennis place four on Empire 8 All-Conference team

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's tennis team placed four on the 2009 Empire 8 Women's Tennis All-Conference team. Amanda Berg (Mendham, NJ/Mendham) and Alexis Stanely were first team selections. Michele Caporali (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) and Julie Burkett (McDonald, PA/West Allegheny) were honorable mention selections. Caporali was also RIT's Sportswoman of the Year recipient.

Women's tennis falls to Stevens in Empire 8 semifinal; Tigers finish 7-6

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team had its fall season end, as they lost to Stevens, 7-2 in an Empire 8 semifinal match at RIT Courts on Saturday afternoon.  RIT was seeded third, while Stevens was seeded second.  The Tigers finish the 2009 season with a 7-6 record.

ITHACA, NY - Junior Julie Burkett (McDonald, PA/West Allegheny) and sophomore Marie Revekant (Pittsford, NY/East Rochester) advanced out of the first round and into the quarterfinal round, as the RIT women's tennis team completed action at the 2009 New York State Champioships at the Reis Tennis Center hosted by Ithaca College on Friday and Saturday.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women’s tennis team ended their 2009 season with an overall record of 7-6, and enjoyed another successful season in the Empire 8, finishing third in the conference with a 6-2 mark. The Tigers fell to conference rival Stevens in the semifinals of the Empire 8 tournament.
