ROCHESTER, NY -- Lou Spiotti, Director of the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation at RIT has named Krystina Bachner as the head men's tennis coach. Bachner took over for Frank Solome who resigned after four seasons.  Bachner is currently and will remain the RIT women's head coach as well.

ROCHESTER, NY - Five members of the RIT men's tennis team earned 2009 All-Empire 8 Conference postseason honors on Wednesday.  Senior Jose Guzman (Guatemala/Collegio Valle Verde) earned first team honors in singles and paired with freshman Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) to earn second team honors in doubles.  Junior John Traver (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) was a second team selection in single and partnered with Adam Wolf (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush) to garner second team accolades in doubles.  Senior Mauricio Pommier (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/German) was RIT's representative as the Empire 8 Sportsperson of the Year.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT tennis team had its eight-match winning streak snapped by Stevens (14-4) on Saturday in the Empire 8 Tournament held at RIT.  The Ducks defeated RIT 9-0.  RIT ends its season with a 9-4 record.

ELMIRA, NY -- The RIT men's tennis team (7-3, 5-2 Empire 8) extended its winning streak to eight matches with a 7-2 win over Elmira College (3-15, 2-5 Empire 8) in Empire 8 action on Saturday afternoon. It is the second time in four seasons that the Tigers have won eight straight matches. RIT won eight straight in 2005.
