Frisicano earns 2009 NSCAA East Region third team honors

ROCHESTER, NY - Junior defender Sarah Frisicano (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) of the RIT women's soccer team was named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) East Region third team.  She becomes the first Tiger since Carol Rivers in 2001 to receive this prestigious honor.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women’s soccer team wrapped up their 2009 campaign finishing 7-7-3 overall, including a dramatic 2-1 victory over #10 Rochester. The Tigers finished 3-5-0 in the Empire 8, with wins over Stevens, Utica, and Alfred.

ROCHESTER, NY – The Empire 8 announced the 2009 all-conference team on Wednesday. Six members of the RIT women’s soccer team earned all-conference honors. Junior Sarah Frisicano (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) was a first-team selection and Ashley Valenti (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima), and Kristen Denninger (Rochester, NY/Nazareth Academy) were both second-team selections. Shireen Irani (Calgary, Alberta/PSA Chaos), Kendra Shelters (Lyons, NY/Lyons), and Allyson Pisher (Holley, NY/Holley) were named honorable mention selections. Denninger was also named the RIT Sportswoman of the Year.
