RIT Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach Receives National Honor

NEW PORT, RI -- RIT women's lacrosse assistant coach, Melissa Pearsall, was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) outstanding assistant coach for Division III. The award was given at the honors dinner on Monday night in New Port, Rhode Island.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's lacrosse squad was one of 62 institutions in Division III that earned 2009 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad honors on Tuesday.  Teams that have a collective GPA of 3.0 or greater earn the distinction of Academic Squad.  Below is a complete list of the 62 Division III schools that earned the academic honor.

Kelsey Evans becomes RIT's first women's lacrosse All-American; earns 2009 IWLCA second team honor

ROCHESTER, NY - Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) of the RIT women's lacrosse team was named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) second team All-American on Thursday.  Evans is the first RIT women's lacrosse player to earn All-American honors.  Earlier in the week, Evans was named a womenslacrosse.com third team All-American.

ROCHESTER, NY - Seniors Kelsey Evans (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Jerica Young (Jay, NY/Northwood School) (Jay, NY/Northwood School), along with  junior Ashley Pezze (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) were named to the 2009 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Empire Region team on Friday.  Evans and Young were named to the first team and are now eligible for All-American accolades.  Pezze was a second team selection.
