ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men’s hockey team will play the Robert Morris Colonials on Thursday, December 30 at 3 p.m. at the Consol Energy Center, brand new home of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. This contest will replace the game that was originally scheduled on Friday, February 18 at Robert Morris and is part of the Penguins’ weeklong celebration of hockey in the week leading up to the 2011 Bridgestone Winter Classic.

ROCHESTER, NY – The 2009-10 RIT men’s hockey team was inducted into the 2010 Frontier Field Walk of Fame in conjunction with the Greater Rochester Sports Authority on Sunday, August 15.  The squad was honored in the “Chairman's Choice” category.

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey program announced that season tickets for the 2010-11 season go on sale Monday, August 2 at www.rit.edu/hockeytickets.  Starting, September 1, single-game and season tickets can also be purchased at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center Box Office or by phone at (585) 475-4121.  Season tickets will remain on sale until Saturday, October 2.

ROCHESTER, NY - Former RIT men's hockey goaltender Jared DeMichiel (Avon, CT) signed a professional contract for the 2010-11 season with the two-time defending Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League on Monday.  The Bears are the farm club of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey Leagues.  He will report to the Capitals training camp in September.
